Get in to: One:Day:Life

So, sooner or later, i was gonna do a One:Day:Life introductory post or something, to those poor souls who haven't come across this fantabulous pop-punk band!
They're a local band (for local people :P) who i was thankfully introduced to thanks to my lovely friend Mackenzie's dating of the rather sexy Kev ;) Hehe. In saying that.... ODL are a pretty damn loverly looking band, i think most people can agree there! ANYWAY! Moving on from my odd homosexual preferences!
I first saw them at 2004's Music in the Park, where the fantastimatic song Brand New Enemy was implanted into my head. I'm also very happy to say i have a recording of that very song at that very gig from one of their videos. It's not very good quality, but i love listening to it, going way back to 'the roots' of my love :P
Back to the band... The released their first EP, [Girl Meets Boy, Both Hearts Break] 'Same Old Story'....erm....some time back. I could check but it seems a waste. Just check yourself! There, 3 links, is that enough yet? No? FINE! This cd really changed me from thinking 'yea they're cool' to 'I LOVE ODL!'. It's only a 20 minute broadcast but all 4 songs are fooking AMAZING! I really really love this ep, as much as when i first bought it. And to try and show you what i mean, lets give you the first track, number 2 of the cd.

# Don't Look Down - One:Day:Life

After that cd, i found myself going to almost every gig of theirs in Ipswich i could manage, which at times has been a fair few (i think earlier this year there were three in like 2 weeks? Although i missed the acoustic steamby b gig due to STUPID HOLIDAY :P) and my adoration has grown and grown, leading to more and more sweaty photos of me, ste and co, being posted on the One:Day:Life gallery page. Oh dear? But it's all fun, hehe.
A few weeks back, the long awaited secnd EP appeared, titled Friends in Name Only. At first i was traumatised to see the cd case, instead of the lavish proper jewel case seen last time. None the less, i was muchly cheered after getting it signed (and annotated :P) and after hearing how good it was. However, i'm not sure why, but... Brand New Enemy doesn't seem to work for me on this cd. It's still good, but it just doesn't seem to hold the energy iv always loved at gigs. But i shouldnt complain, another 4 awesome songs (and another to download from the site, which is cheeky and silly), another happy Namnoj? My pick from this cd took a while to pick, but iv finally settled on....

# Four Hundred Feet - One:Day:Life

It's a very bouncy and cool song, about, well, an AWESOME night, haha. I think these two songs should help give an idea of what ODL are about. They provide brilliant lyrics with jumpable bouncy-ness that everyone should love. But however much i like the recordings, i don't think you'll ever really get how great they are until you see them live. The atmosphere always rocks. So, if they ever make a trip near you, or if indeed if you live in Ipswich and have been silly enough not to see them yet, make sure you make a trip to one of their gigs, jump around like a madman (or crazy lady), and buy their ep(s)! Hehe.
